I saw Lyta kissing Santa Kosh
By his ship in bay thirteen last night
They didn’t see me creep
Trough the hatch to have a peep
They thought I was in blue five
In my quarters, fast asleep
Then I saw Lyta teasing Santa Kosh
Out of his encounter suit so bright
Oh what a laugh it would have been
If Bester had only seen
Lyta kissing Santa Kosh last night
As with the previous lyrics for Vorlon Christmas comments are of course welcome. Particularly if anyone has a more accurate blue sector level number for crew quarters. The numbers one through ten, with the exception of seven, and the number twelve can all be substituted for the five.

I noticed that for my last two posts I made two new categories. Adding this post, and the new Meta category (for when I blog about blogging) to the mix that makes it three for three. So why am I unable to use the nice miscelaneous category I set up right at the start?
I’m not sure what it is. At a guess I’d say it’s just a part of getting the blog set up. So far all the new categories have been made, because the item fell into a distinct category. With the exception of the Meta category (which is important only in the blog) each of the last few categories has also been an important part of my life. I just hope the list of categories will eventually growing quite this rapidly.

I’ve been able to do one really useful thing the last few days. Hopefully it will be more today since for the time being I’m feeling a bit better (knock on wood). But I figured I’d write a quick note about what I have been doing.
And what I have been doing is actually rather obvious, from the title of this post. I’ve been clearing some of the books that were on my “to be read” list in the light reading category. Because I haven’t really been up to anything more than light reading. I’ve read maybe four Agatha Christie detective novels, and two of David Weber’s Honor Harrington books.
The Honor Harrington novels are actually part of a re-reading process, since I’ve read the entire series before. But the Christies were new reads. They also get me down to roughly half a dozen Agatha Christie novels currently in my possession and unread. At the start of November that was still at something close to 15. Of course I’m still missing 9 of the books, but that’s a story for another time.

While I haven’t been writing a lot the last few days, as far as fiction is concerned. I have managed to put the finishing touches to something I started in the final days of NaNoWriMo, and adaptation of the lyrics for “Merry Christmas Everybody” by Slade into “Vorlon Christmas”:
Are you seeing Morden’s head up on a pike?
When he smiles and asks you what you’d want or like
Does he poison off Adira
To make Mollari turn his way
Are you looking for a way to make him pay?
Chorus:
So here it is,
Vorlon Cristmas
Got the shadows on the run
Look at the rangers now
It’s only just begun
Are you waiting for the psi-cops to arrive?
Are you sure you’ve got the sleepers by your side?
And does Bester always tell you
That the psi-corps is the best
While he’s searchin’ for some rogue teeps to arrest
Chorus
What can a psi-cop do when he sees that Lyta’s kissing Santa-Kosh? – aha
Are you trying to avenge the captain’s fall
Are you hoping that the first ones hear your call
Do you ride the lock-on signal
White Star heading for the gate
When you find the Vorlon fleet almost to late
Chorus (four times)
If anyone has suggestions on how to improve these lyrics feel free to leave a comment.
I’m almost fully into life after NaNoWriMo now. The last episode of the Dutch NaNo Podcast is due to go out around midnight tonight. After that I haven’t got anything specifically about NaNo left to do.
The good news is that for the time being at least the Holland & Belgium regional lounge seems to be staying somewhat active. So with some luck I’ll be able to stay in touch with all the people there throughout the coming year. There’s even talk of setting up some writing groups to meet in person once a month. One of them should be close enough to hear for me to make it. But of course the question is if we can get enough people from the right area. We’re pretty thin on the ground here in the northern part of the Netherlands.
I haven’t done a lot of post NaNo writing. Partly because I do need a short break after ploughing through 120k in 30 days, and partly because I haven’t been feeling well the last two days. My temperature seems to be somewhat above normal most of the time, which is not the way I like it (to say the least). In fact as a result of this I haven’t done much of anything for the last two days. Hopefully things will get a little better soon.
