The Expriment – 002 – Photo

By popular demand: a photo of the subject and I’m sure you’ll be pleased to know I’ve managed to keep myself from making it look a bit worse on purpose to pre-emptively disguise any damage living with me might do to it.

Peppermint Plant

*lol* Good to know that one voice (mine, in that case) have such an effect. Thanks for the prompt delivery of the image.

And – are you sure that this is really peppermint? It does look a little like basil :D

I’m pretty sure it’s peppermint. It said so on the little plastic thingy it was packaged in. And it seems to smell like peppermint (although, granted, I do have cold right now).

But one of the reasons I’m actually pretty sure its peppermint is that I looked to see whether they had basil, and they didn’t.

I’ll admit the lower leaves may look a bit like basil, but the upper ones pretty much look like peppermint to me.

Maybe it’s a rare cross-breed between pepperming and basil! Wonder what that would taste like in a tomatoe sauce.

But what has occured to me as well: in my eyes, this is technically no plant. It’s living spice (usually I only own the dried variation) and in my experience they don’t last too long. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you, though ;)

Pepperming? The Peppermerciless? Say it ain’t so! ;)

Kidding aside though, I’m going to try to restrain myself from removing too many leaves. Actually from removing any for the first month or so. After that I’m planning to see whether I can’t (occasionally) make peppermint tea from fresh leaves.

You do know that you have to talk to it, right? To make it feel at home and grow?
